penelope® is the SOL Group's response to the request for a medical device to dynamically dose inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) based on the indications for use of the medicine. The device is generally used for particularly sensitive therapies in Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care and Operating Room units.
The device allows Medical Doctors and Nurses in healthcare facilities to dose and monitor the flow of NO and O2 and, at the same time, to ensure with continuous monitoring that the concentration of NO2, a highly toxic gas that could form in the inspiratory ventilation line of a patient undergoing treatment with inhalation of nitric oxide (iNO), is kept below guard levels.
